Volvo to recall 571 cars in China for repairs
Swedish carmaker Volvo Car Corp will recall 571 vehicles in China from May 24 due to defects in a fuel pressure tube, quality watchdog said today.
"The recall covers XC90 3.2 and XC90 2.5T models produced between October 26 to December 21 last year," General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (GAQSIQ) said in a statement.
The defective oil pressure pipes could leak after connection with oil pipes and possibly start a fire in high temperatures or when exposed to flames, Xinhua news agency said.
The manufacturer will check and replace the defective fuel oil pressure pipes for free.
Chinese automaker Geely signed a deal with Ford to acquire Volvo Cars for USD 1.8 billion on March 28, 2010 and is expected to close the deal by the third quarter of 2010.
