Vodafone and Telefonica announced a networked sharing deal that will cover Europe, and result in huge cost savings in future as two companies agreed to pool mobile infrastructure in UK, Ireland, Spain, Germany.

Vodafone and Telefonica announced a networked sharing deal that will cover Europe, and result in huge cost savings in future as the two companies agreed to pool mobile infrastructure in UK, Ireland, Spain, Germany.

The deal will see two of the top European telecoms companies sharing sites, masts and equipment, and also give a push to both companies rolling out mobile broadband across.

Telefonica, which owns the O2 brand, and Vodafone, have both been under pressure in a declining European market.Two Canadians energy companies will come together to create Canada���s biggest energy company, as Suncor announced it will buy rival Petro Canada for $ 13.7 billion in an all share deal.

The move, the largest energy sector acquisition since 2006, is being seen as a precursor to more consolidation in the sector. Abu Dhabi based sovereign fund Aabar Investments becomes the largest single shareholder in Daimler, in a deal worth Euro 1.95 million which will give it about 10% in Daimler. The German car giant is increasing its capital.
