The series, created by Benjamin Charbit and Noé Debré, will consist of eight episodes and will be available on Paramount+ in France, the U.K., Italy, Germany, and Latin America. Dujardin will be joined by Salvatore Ficarra, Audrey Dana, André Dussollier, Eric Elmosnino, and Grégory Gadebois.
Plot
Set in 1821, the series follows Don Diego de la Vega as he becomes the mayor of Los Angeles and confronts a corrupt businessman named Don Emmanuel.
Production
The series is produced by Marc Dujardin’s Le Collectif 64 and Julien Seul at Bien Sûr Productions, with Charbit, Debré, and Emmanuel Poulain-Arnaud as the writers. It is directed by Jean-Baptiste Saurel and Emilie Noblet. France tv distribution is handling international sales.
Although known primarily for his film work, Dujardin recently starred in the comedy series "Alphonse," created by Nicolas Bedos for Prime Video in France.
