"Zombie deer disease" has become a topic of discussion after scientists have expressed apprehensions about how dangerous the disease might be.

A disease called "Zombie deer disease" has put scientists on alert. It has 100 per cent fatality rate and so far there is no vaccine. Concerns have been raised over its potentiality to cause infection among humans, as per a report.

As many as 33 states in the US have reported such cases. Apart from the US, instances of the disease have been reported in South Korea, Canada, and Norway.

In the latter part of last year, specialists verified the initial instance of the ailment in Yellowstone National Park, officially termed chronic wasting disease (CWD).


The illness affects specific brain regions and usually leads to a gradual decline in physical health, alterations in behavior, increased drooling, and eventual death, New York Post reported New York State Department of Health.
