The race for mayor of New York City is getting more intense, and a new poll shows one candidate way ahead of the rest. Zohran Mamdani, a Democratic candidate, is far ahead of his opponents. Voters are most concerned about crime, the economy, and the cost of living.

A Suffolk University CityView poll from September 16 to 18 shows that Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani is ahead in the race for mayor of New York City. The poll of 500 likely voters indicates that Mamdani has 45 percent support, which is a strong 20-point lead over former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who is at 25 percent, as per a report by The Hill.

According to a survey by Emerson College, PIX11, and The Hill, Mamdani is ahead by 15 points, with 43 percent of the vote to Cuomo's 28 percent, as per a report by The Hill.

David Paleologos, head of the Suffolk University Political Research Center, said, "This poll shows that the things New Yorkers really care about in this election are the economy, crime, and affordability."

There are only a few weeks left until the general election in November, and Mamdani's consistent lead in polls shows that he is the clear front-runner in the race for mayor of New York City.
