The National Park Service reported that a woman was killed at Zion National Park, and her husband was saved while seeking assistance.

After starting their 16-mile hike through The Narrows, a well-known region in the park, the woman and her husband had reportedly grown "dangerously cold" overnight, with symptoms associated with hypothermia, on Tuesday.

Zion National Park experienced a temperature variation from a high of 55 to a low of 14, which was cooler than the park's typical November low of 37.

The married pair halted on the Riverside Walk near the trail's northern terminus. According to the park service, the man left the woman alone on Wednesday morning and searched for assistance.

At Riverside Walk, where other tourists were assisting him in descending the trail, park officers discovered the man. According to officials, he was then taken to the Zion Emergency Operations Center.
