Popular music streaming app, Spotify, looks to be testing out a TikTok-esque short form video feature on its app.

Beta testers of the music app have found that the popular music app has now added a ‘Discover’ button.

The new tab on the toolbar leads users to short slips of songs, in what seems to be an attempt at helping users discover new music

Users can ‘like’ or ‘skip’ the songs that show up, helping the music service streamline its suggestions.

Since TikTok became hugely popular, in 2016/17, pretty much all social media platforms have been trying to get a slice of the pie.

From YouTube shorts to Instagram Reels, everyone is on the same page now, with Spotify looking to catch up with the new feature

The music app, which also hosts podcasts, is adding new feature in other sections too, with a new #FindTheOne feature for its podcast section.

As always, this year too, the music service is doing its ‘Wrapped’ service, where users can get a year-end review of their most listened to music.

With all these features now only available in Beta and in specific locations, it could be a while before the functionality shows up on your app.
