YouTube star Grace Helbig reveals breast cancer diagnosis, says 'It's surreal'

YouTube content creator Grace Helbig shared an eight-minute long emotional video on Monday sharing her breast cancer diagnosis. Grace received the news of her cancer diagnosis a month ago after she had undergone some tests. 37-year-old Helbig is battling triple positive breast cancer which is treatable and can be cured upon multiple chemotherapies and hormonal therapies, according to reports.

"It's very shocking. It's surreal", Helbig says in the video shared by her.

Grace got her tests done following some weird lumps in her left breast.




The treatment would require 6 rounds of chemotherapy. She says, she was reluctant to bring it up to the doctors as she was unsure. But, as soon as she got it checked, the doctors revealed her cancer is stage 2A.

Helbig urges everyone to get their regular body check ups done and that everyone should be updated about their body.

Grace earlier thought the lump in her breast is just a muscle tissue and got it cleared from a medical practioner only after getting herself checked.

Grace Helbig, Youtuber and comedian also stated that she is in constant touch with Hank Green who she finds reltable and helpful. Hank Green is a Youtuber who recently revealed his own Cancer diagnosis.

Grace Helbig has amassed 2.6 million subscribers on Youtube. She hosts the podcast " This Might Get Weird" alongside Mamrie Hart.

Helbig states that she is confident to undergo the treatment. "I'm going to fight this, This is my job now", she adds.
