Santiago shared photos on Instagram showing cuts across her face and arms, while Blackwood also sustained facial and chest bruising. Despite their injuries, both described themselves as “beyond grateful” to be alive.

“It hit us directly—me on his left, him on my right—as I bit into a delicious salmon slider. Out of nowhere, but we survived,” Santiago wrote. Reflecting on the terrifying encounter, she added, “Life’s too short for grudges or anger. Let go, forgive, live in the now, and cherish those around you. This could’ve been our last meal.”

Cuvee’s Culinary Creations posted the incident video on Instagram, expressing relief that everyone was safe despite the chaos and damage.

Cause and investigation

Authorities have launched an investigation into the crash, which police are describing as a “freak accident.” TMZ reports that the driver, who remains unidentified, was not impaired at the time of the crash and did not sustain injuries.
