Young boy from Florida calls 911 for a hug, policeman responds with kindness
A young boy made an unconventional 911 call, not to report an emergency, but with a heartfelt request. His simple desire? A hug from a police officer. Deputy Scott Pracht, serving with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office in Florida, responded...

Deputy Pracht opened the discussion with, "Everything okay? A 911 call was received." The mother requested her son to come outside, saying that her kid didn't understand the seriousness of calling 911. The small child said naively, "Well, I wanted to give him a hug," when asked why he had called.
The boy gets a hug from the officer. The young man informed the policeman that he was familiar with his 911 number. Seizing the opportunity to educate the young caller, Deputy Pracht explained that 911 is strictly reserved for emergencies and should be used when someone is hurt or requires assistance.
The boy responded with a heartfelt apology, to which the officer reassured him, saying, "It's okay, kid, don't worry about it," concluding their interaction with a friendly fist bump. As he left the scene, Deputy Pracht shared, "Just wanted a hug," over his radio.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office shared the touching video, emphasizing the significance of the encounter and the lessons imparted. The video has struck a chord with viewers, who have expressed gratitude for the officer's patience and kindness in guiding the young boy.
