You could be one of them: World Economic Forum warns that millions of people will lose their jobs in the next 5 years due to AI

There are serious concerns that AI's implementation across various workspaces would end up in a majority of people losing their jobs in the next five years or so, if a new warning from the World Economic Forum is to be believed.

Reuters
The World Economic Forum is currently warning Americans about the possibility of manpower receiving a massive hit across various industrial sectors once AI is brought into implementation. Even though the advent of AI is being celebrated in the US and other major parts of the world, it could still mean trouble in the economic aspect of things, as the US employment data could get jeopardized if the warning by the WEF indeed came true.

Is the World Economic Forum warning about incoming layoffs?

It seems like the World Economic Forum's predictions are seeing the slightest of fruition if the latest activities of Meta are referred to. For starters, Meta has announced that it will be replacing its midl-level engineers with AI agents who will be adept in automation.

Meanwhile, the World Economic Forum's warning also comes across a similar timeline when Meta warned employees about possible waves of layoffs based on the performance of their staff.

WEF came to this analytical point of view based on its survey of nearly 1,000 global employers, and it has been observed that a little less than 50% of the bosses think that they will be looking at reducing their workforce in the coming years, and if AI were to replace the existing staff, then so be it.
