Production for the final episodes began in May, confirmed by Paramount on May 20, 2024. Filming was largely completed by early August, with a wrap party held on September 7, 2024.

Yellowstone’s original plans included more seasons, but with Kevin Costner’s departure, the show’s creators decided to conclude with Season 5.

Cast

Returning cast members include Cole Hauser (Rip Wheeler), Kelly Reilly (Beth Dutton), Luke Grimes (Kayce Dutton), Wes Bentley (Jamie Dutton), Kelsey Asbille (Monica Dutton) and Gil Birmingham (Thomas Rainwater). Kevin Costner will not appear in the final episodes, as he announced his departure from the series after a long-standing commitment to his film project, Horizon.

Rumors suggest Cole Hauser, Kelly Reilly and Luke Grimes will join the upcoming spin-off The Madison. Jefferson White, who portrays Jimmy, may also appear in Season 5 Part 2 after being seen with the cast during production.
