Yellowstone actor Q'Orianka Kilcher faces felony charges for getting $97,000 in disability payments

Actor Q'Orianka Kilcher, who was a part of a hit television series, Yellowstone, has been slapped with charges of felony. The actor is facing the charges for allegedly collecting around $97,000 in disability benefits while working on the show.

As per the statements issued by the California Department of Insurance, the 32-year-old actor of North Hollywood, collected around $97,000 through workers' compensation fraud despite being able to work. The department informed that Kilcher received $96,838 in disability benefits from 2019 to 2021.

Q'Orianka Kilcher has been charged with two counts of felony. The department said that Kilcher collected the amounts for many months while working on the television show "Yellowstone." The actor played the role of Angela Blue Thunder for four episodes, which were aired in 2020. The TV show, produced by the Paramount Network, had also starred Kevin Costner, Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly and Wes Bentley, alongside Kilcher.


According to the insurance company, the actor started to collect disability insurance after suffering a neck and shoulder injury while travelling in a production vehicle on the sets of "Dora" in October 2018. Besides, Kilcher had also denied working in 2019, citing the same injuries, the company added.

The company also added that she returned to work and started to receive disability benefits just five days after the last working day on the show.

However, Kilcher's representative Michael Becker has rubbished the allegations. Becker stated that Kilcher's injuries were verified by the third-party doctors, and she was entitled to receive the monetary benefits. Besides, Becker said that the actor would "vigorously" defend her stand.

Kilcher has played many roles on the screen. She played the role of Pocahontas in the movie titled 'The New World' in 2005. She was also part of the movie Dora and the Lost City of Gold, released in 2019.
