Warren (7-5) allowed just three hits, struck out seven, and didn’t issue a walk for only the second time in 25 starts this season. He yielded solo homers to Byron Buxton and Trevor Larnach but became the first Yankees starter to last at least six innings since his own outing on July 30.
Cody Bellinger opened the scoring with a two-out homer in the first inning, his first in 11 games. Giancarlo Stanton extended the lead with a two-out blast in the third - his 10th in his past 25 games and 440th career homer, tying Jason Giambi for 44th all-time. Ben Rice followed Stanton with a back-to-back homer, and Jazz Chisholm Jr. added another solo shot in the eighth.
Trent Grisham and Aaron Judge contributed RBI singles in the seventh as the Yankees improved to 25-7 in their last 32 regular-season matchups with Minnesota. The victory was just New York’s third in its past 10 games.
Luke Weaver recorded four outs in relief, and David Bednar closed out the ninth with two strikeouts in a non-save situation. The Yankees have now homered at least four times in a game for the 13th time this season.
