Users said the platform simply refused to load. Some who opened the website were met only with the company’s “X” logo instead of the usual stream of posts. Others encountered an error message reading, “something went wrong, try reloading.”

Reports began surfacing early, with Downdetector showing that users started flagging problems around 1:15 p.m. By 1:45 p.m., more than 10,669 reports had been logged.

Frustrated users took to other channels to describe what they were seeing. One user wrote, “No notifications showing on web. Delayed replies and follows for last 72 hours.” Another said, “Well app and website isn't showing posts so it's down, wait now the feed works but not seeing notifications.”

The problem appeared to be affecting users globally, according to Down Detector.

X Outage Leaves Users Without Official Twitter Status Updates

Unlike many major platforms, X does not operate a dedicated status page to provide outage updates. The company and its owner, Elon Musk typically share updates directly on X itself, but those official pages were down along with the rest of the platform.
