The former world champion revealed he is still dealing with significant discomfort and limited mobility, casting doubt on a summer return. The injury occurred during a WWE Saturday Night Main Event when Rollins' knee popped and buckled while attempting a moonsault.
Though he traveled to Birmingham for an MRI, Rollins revealed on The Rich Eisen Show that he couldn’t undergo the procedure due to excessive swelling.
Additional tests are planned in Los Angeles, but no clear timeline has been set. WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H mentioned at the Evolution post-show press conference that Rollins had traveled to support his wife, Becky Lynch, despite his own injury.
The situation has left the WWE Universe deeply concerned about Rollins’ long-term health and future in the company. While acknowledging the severity of the injury, Rollins remains optimistic and is still looking for the silver lining during recovery. However, he admitted he expects to be 'out for an extended period of time', making his immediate in-ring future uncertain.
Despite the setback, Rollins is trying to stay positive. He shared that the silver lining of his injury is getting to spend more time at home with his daughter, Roux, during his recovery. While the knee injury has forced him out of action indefinitely, Rollins expressed hope that he’ll be able to return in time for WrestleMania.
However, Rollins admitted that nothing is certain until doctors can properly assess his knee once the swelling goes down. Until then, the WWE Universe remains in suspense, awaiting further updates on the status of one of the company’s top superstars.
