WWE SmackDown's Friday night episode delivered a night full of shocks and drama at LDLC Arena in Lyon, France. The highlight saw Sami Zayn overcome Solo Sikoa to win the United States Championship for the first time in his career, a milestone moment that sent the crowd into celebration. Zayn pinned Sikoa clean, cementing himself as a top singles star on the blue brand. Elsewhere, John Cena made headlines by ripping into Logan Paul, questioning the social media star’s legitimacy and presence in WWE ahead of Premium Live Event Clash in Paris on Sunday. With Zayn’s historic title win and Cena’s fiery words, SmackDown showcased both major championship implications and intense rivalries heating up.

The episode opened with a heated face-off between Cena and Paul. Cena unleashed a scathing verbal attack, branding Paul a 'wannabe' and a 'Dollar Store Cena'. He accused the social media star of lacking respect for the business, chasing wrestling only as a desperate money grab, and failing to understand what it truly takes to succeed. Reminding fans of his own disruptive 'Thugonomics' rise two decades ago, Cena contrasted his legacy with Logan’s fading influence, even mocking his absence from top influencer lists. The fiery exchange ended with Cena declaring their clash 'the greatest of all time vs the disappointment'.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair were scheduled to defend their titles against Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre, but the challengers struck first with a vicious pre-match ambush. Flair was left injured in the attack, forcing SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis to change the bout to a singles contest between Bliss and Green. In a competitive match, Bliss managed to secure the victory with a quick roll-up. However, her celebration was cut short when Green and Fyre launched another assault. A limping Flair attempted to make the save, but the challengers overpowered both champions and stood tall to close the segment.

The chaos allowed The Street Profits to capitalise, with Angelo Dawkins hitting the Revelation on Hayes to secure the win and earn a shot at the tag team titles.
