An ice cream dessert in Japan has reportedly become the most expensive ice cream in the world.

Known as byakuya, which means "white night" in Japanese, is now officially the expensive ice cream in the world. The ice cream has found its mention in Guinness World Records website, as per the CNN report.
The dessert is marketed by Japanese ice cream brand Cellato. The website catalogue of the company describes white night a gelato.
The ingredient is sourced from Alba which is known for the best white truffles in Italy. The ingredient is reportedly cost $14,500 per kilogram, as per reports.
The ice cream has two types of cheese, edible gold leaf, and a paste-like ingredient 'Sakekasu'. The ice cream dessert has a combination of luxury ingredients from Japan and Italy.
Japanese ice cream brand Cellato official told Guinness World Records it took the company over 1.5 years to develop the ice cream dessert with a lot of trials and errors.
The Japanese company said that its aim was to create a delicacy that merges traditional Japanese foods with European ingredients. The project was headed by Tadayoshi Yamada, the head chef at Osaka-based restaurant RiVi which is prominent for French-Japanese fusion cuisine.
The dessert is sold by Cellato in Japan. The company recommends the dessert with a sake or French white wine.
Cellato also offers black truffle-based dessert.
