World population reaches 8 billion. Check out 5th, 6th, 7th billionth child

Only 11 years after surpassing the landmark of seven billion, the United Nations reports that the world's population reached the eight billion threshold on November 15. Nine billion could be reached in around 15 years, while the UN projects that 10 billion won't be reached until 2080. According to the United Nations' most recent estimates, the world's population may reach 8.5 billion people in 2030, 9.7 billion in 2050, and 10.4 billion in 2100.

Adnan Mevic, a 23-year-old inhabitant of Sarajevo, claims he is worried about the direction the world is going. Mevic, the sixth-billionth human, also became famous when he was born because politicians and military leaders flocked to the maternity unit to see the newborn.

Sadia Sultana Oishee, an 11-year-old from Bangladesh, who is the seventh-billionth child in the world, is aware of her fame. She was born in 2011, and according to her parents, her birth was nothing short of an event, with politicians and television crews swarming around her mother to get a look at her.
