Women’s World Cup 2023: England's Lionesses drawn in Group D with Denmark, China, and playoff winner
After their inspirational Euro 2021 success, England’s Lionesses head to Australia and New Zealand eyeing FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Stern Competition
After their recent success, England will start among the favourites as they aim for their first-ever tournament win. As the tournament was expanded from 24 teams to 31, they’ll face stern competition.The Lionesses will play against Denmark, China, and the play-off winner of Group B, either Senegal, Chile, or Haiti, after the draw on the group stage.
On Saturday, July 22, the side of Sarina Wiegman will face the play-off winners in Brisbane. After that, they’ll play against Denmark in Sydney on Friday, July 28, and then face China in Adelaide on Tuesday, August 1.
Among the five teams making their debut in the Women’s World Cup is the Republic of Ireland. They’ll take on Canada, Nigeria, and co-hosts Austria, being placed in Group B.
Previous champions
The United States, the champions of the last two tournaments, will take on the Group A play-off winner, Vietnam, and the Netherlands.In their first game since Euro success, the Lionesses beat the USWNT 2-1 earlier this month at Wembley in front of a huge crowd.
