Woman gets attacked on NYC subway, no one steps up to help her
A video has been doing the rounds in which a man is assaulting a woman on the NYC subway. She pleads for help, but none of the riders steps up to help her.

The passengers next to the man went away on seeing him seated next to them. But, the woman right next to him was unable to do so. She attempted to leave, but the man reached for her hair, grabbed them and then pulled her back down to sit next to him.
Naturally, the woman got distressed and begged other riders to help her as she shouted. However, not a single rider stepped up to help her. After a few moments, the man shouted at her and asked her to get up while shoving her to another part of the train.
After this, he proceeded to walk away while continuing to scream and move through the cabin in an erratic manner. At one point, the man is seen stepping onto a seat inside the train while it is in motion and kicking in the window.
As the train stops, he got off immediately and disappeared into the crowd. A statement by the New York Police Department says that they are aware of the incident, and it is currently under investigation. However, no one has filed a formal report yet.
This incident is one of the many that have taken place over the recent months in the subway system of the city. On 22 May, a man was shot on his chest and passed away due to his wounds.
A month prior, ten people were shot on a Brooklyn subway train, but fortunately, no one got killed. Post-pandemic, the ridership on the subways was already slow, and the recent incidents of violence have been of no help either.
