The model revealed that the inspiration behind her first name is Winnie the Pooh. She was a big fan of the character as a kid. Once, she was talking to some boys with her friends, when she took the phone and asked them to not show any attitude towards her friends. When asked who she was, Harlow looked over at her friend, who was wearing a Winnie the Pooh T-shirt and said her name was Winnie.

When she became a model, she decided to continue with the name since it felt “natural”. The Canadian model added that the name Harlow is inspired by actress Jean Harlow. The actress was one of Marilyn Monroe’s role models. Winnie Harlow is a huge fan of Monroe and decided to honour her in this manner.

Harlow added that she loves her real name and decided to keep Winnie Harlow and Chantelle separate. when she started working She confessed that her family still calls her by her real name.
