Sacramento Kings guard Russell Westbrook (18) celebrates after scoring against the Golden State Warriors.
Russell Westbrook recorded his record-extending 204th career triple-double to power the Sacramento Kings to a 121-116 comeback victory over the visiting Golden State Warriors on Wednesday. Westbrook finished with 23 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists as the Kings overcame a 13-point first-half deficit to secure the win despite missing key players Zach LaVine and Domantas Sabonis due to injuries.

DeMar DeRozan added 25 points, while Malik Monk contributed 21 off the bench. Dennis Schroder provided a crucial spark, scoring 13 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter to help seal the win.

Rookie Will Richard starred for the short-handed Warriors with a career-high 30 points in his first NBA start. Golden State was without veterans Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Jimmy Butler. Moses Moody chipped in 28 points and Jonathan Kuminga added 24 in a spirited but unsuccessful effort.

Sacramento trailed 40-27 early in the second quarter before tightening its defense and capitalizing on Golden State’s turnovers. The Kings forced nine points off giveaways in the period and cut the deficit to 62-57 by halftime. Westbrook and Monk led the charge as the Kings grabbed their first lead with just over nine minutes left in the third quarter, heading into the final frame up 92-85.

Schroder ignited an 11-0 fourth-quarter run with three straight three-pointers, giving Sacramento a 115-104 advantage. The Warriors responded with a 10-2 burst to narrow the gap to 117-114 in the final minute, but Kuminga’s missed jumper proved costly.

Schroder sank two clutch free throws with 14.8 seconds remaining, and Westbrook forced a late turnover before DeRozan iced the game at the line, completing a gritty comeback and extending Sacramento’s winning momentum.
