Troll, the movie on Netflix, has received rave reviews from fans. The story is from Norway and is based on a folk tale where people believe that trolls used to rule the region before the Christians got rid of every one of them, except for one. That troll has been awakened in the Norwegian high mountains and has come down to seek its home. Coincidentally, the presidential palace is built upon the ruins of the troll king's palace.
The government of Norway understood that the trolls' existence was true and had appointed Nora's father to assess its viability. When Nora's father came close to extracting the truth about the trolls, the government decided to paint him a lunatic and forced the latter into a mental asylum.
In the story, Nora continues on the quest his father sets out to achieve. Nora realises that the troll is devastated by the loss of its parents and the world he had envisioned. Unfortunately, the world has changed, and his loved ones don't exist anymore.
As the troll heads off towards its earlier palace, the government thinks it is out to destroy the presidential palace and begins attacking the troll. Due to its size and immense strength, the troll easily vanquishes the various attack helicopters and other armaments directed against the troll.
Nora, in the meantime, can establish some connection with the troll, and she too realises that they have a similarity in their lives. Nora had lost her mother at a young age and can understand the fear and loneliness the troll is experiencing. The troll is ultimately destroyed not by the government but by the sun's ultraviolet rays.

Just before the movie ends, the audience sees an eruption in the mountain and hears another scream, indicating more trolls' existence. That could be the hint of another sequel in the making. trolls are of different types; perhaps the new one would not be averse to sun rays.


The story is written, and directed by Roar Uthaug, and he reveals nothing about a sequel during the movie. After the credits are done, the mountains are shown, and the bone-chilling roar is heard again. So when the producers were asked, they said they have ambitions of a sequel, but it depends on the audience's response. So, a Troll 2 is most likely in the offing.
