Will Jake Paul make his MMA debut after his bout with Mike Tyson? Here's what the boxer has to say
Jake Paul is gearing up for his highly anticipated MMA debut in the summer of 2025, a move that comes after signing a deal with the Professional Fighters League (PFL) two years ago.

While Paul gears up for his boxing fight, he is also planning his entrance into the MMA arena. Although specific details regarding his weight class and opponent are yet to be finalized, PFL owner Donn Davis confirmed that Paul is ready for his debut. Davis stated, "He tells me the summer of 2025. He's been training." Earlier discussions for a fight with Nate Diaz fell through, but Davis believes that the timing was never right for both fighters.

Peter Murray, the PFL chief, echoed Davis's sentiments, affirming that Paul is committed to his MMA journey. Murray noted, "Jake will continue on his boxing journey, but he is committed to making his PFL MMA debut in 2025." They are preparing for a major event featuring Paul, who is eager to fight a legitimate opponent that can draw significant attention. Paul mentioned, "It's just about finding the name," indicating that his first MMA opponent must be marketable.
Paul expressed a desire to fight a recognizable name for his MMA debut. He suggested that a matchup with Nate Diaz could be intriguing but acknowledges it would be challenging. "I think I can beat Nate Diaz in my first MMA fight, it would be tough of course. It's a 50/50 fight," he said. Paul is considering training with well-known teams to ensure he is fully prepared. He emphasized his seriousness about the sport, stating, "I take everything I do seriously, so I would definitely go hard."
