US President- elect Donald Trump have nominated John Ratcliffe who is a former congressman and is the director of national intelligence to eventually lead the CIA during his upcoming administration, reported The Associated Press. This specific appointment by Donald Trump actually reflects his ongoing skepticism towards the US intelligence agencies which he has already and previously accused of undermining his previous presidency.

According to The Associated Press, John Ratcliffe is actually seen as a traditional choice for the role while already having served in a similar capacity during Donald Trump's first term specifically facing severe challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and foreign election interference. On the other hand, Donald Trump's administration specifically aims to reset its relationship with the intelligence agencies which have often been at odds with his leadership style.
