Will Donald Trump do it for the first time - will he be the first president ever to win two non-consecutive U.S elections?
The most awaited US Presidential elections finally took place and US President-elect Donald Trump got elected for non-consecutive terms. Donald Trump is not the only one to achieve this in history as a former US President.

New York Post noted that in spite of the allegations of sexual misconduct, Grover Cleveland severely downplayed the encounter and won the elections against Republican James Blaine which eventually marked a significant Democratic victory following the Civil War.
The first term of Grover Cleveland was characterized with strict economic policies including the vetoes against government aid for the drought stricken farmers and pensions for the Civil War veterans which eventually leaded to his defeat in the year 1888 by Benjamin Harrison in spite of winning the popular vote, asserted New York Post. Though, Grover Cleveland reclaimed the Presidency in the year of 1892 but severely faced some difficult challenges like the Economic panic of 1893.
Donald Trump did not actually fail to regain office in his non-consecutive term but if we trace history there are other former US Presidents like Martin Van Buren and Ulysses S. Grant who also sought for a non-consecutive term but eventually did not succeed. According to New York Post, the 22nd Amendment actually restricts any individual from serving more than two terms as the US President.
