The Natural History Museum has announced the Wildlife Photographer of the Year winners for 2022. American photographer Karine Aigner won the grand title of the prestigious award for his photo, titled The Big Buzz, of a bunch of buzzing cactus bees spinning over hot sand in Texas.

The buzzing ball is of wings-whirling males competing for a single female.

The jury chair Rosamund Kidman Cox said the photograph magnified the intensity and movement at a “bee level.” The competition has multiple categories; winning pictures from each type will be displayed at the London museum.
