Firefighters in California have been making concerted efforts to contain the state's deadliest and largest wildfire of the year. This comes as a town was evacuated in Washington state on Thursday after a fire was burning several homes.

Around 1:30 p.m., the Adams County Sheriff's Office said posted on social media that homes in Lind had burnt down.

At that time, all residents of the town of Lynd were evacuated immediately, the Sheriff's office told mediapersons.

The Sheriff said six homes and eight other structures had got destroyed in fire. With the help of state and local resources, the authorities are trying to control the fires. The evacuation process is also going on, as per the Sheriff.

The state fire department said the fire burnt about 10.1 square kilometers and threatened homes, infrastructure and crops. The cause of the fire has also been identified.

According to officials at a community meeting on Wednesday night, about 1300 people are being evacuated. Officials have warned that fires could break out again in the next few days as clouds clear and humidity drops.

A meteorologist at the National Weather Service said temperatures could hit triple digits over the weekend if the area dries up again. The fires broke out last Friday and charred about 92 square miles. More than a hundred homes and other buildings were burned down, and four bodies were found.

This week's increased number of storms proved to be a blessing in disguise. Pouring rain on Tuesday put out three inches of fire on the eastern sections of the blaze regardless that most of the fire-affected area got next to nothing, as per a fire behavior analyst.

Meanwhile, firefighters expect to fully surround a thousand-acre spot on the northern edge of the McKinney Fire on Thursday.

Even the scientists believe that the past 30 years have seen a significant increase in climate change which has caused turbulence in the weather condition of this region. Thus, it is causing repeated fires and other kinds of severe climatic conditions.
