‘Wicked: For Good’ trailer teases epic vocals and fiery drama in Part 2
A brand-new trailer for “Wicked: For Good”, the eagerly anticipated second chapter of Jon M. Chu’s celebrated movie adaptation of the iconic Broadway musical, dropped Wednesday morning. The preview offers fans an early look of Cynthia Erivo’s recent gravity-defying vocals.

Returning Stars and Plot Highlights

Scheduled to be released in theaters on Nov. 21, 2025, the film brings back Erivo as Elphaba, the “wicked” witch, and Ariana Grande as Glinda, her bubble-gum pink counterpart. In the three-minute preview released Sept. 24, the pair go through a challenging and emotionally charged bond. Erivo’s Elphaba embraces into her villainized arc to confront a fraudulent wizard, while Grande’s Glinda enjoys the benefits of sainthood.

Musical Numbers and Expanded Story

The trailer showcases several of the musical’s most legendary tracks that include, “No Good Deed” and “For Good.” Unlike the Broadway production, which concludes roughly where the first movie did, Part 2 extends the plot, exploring the strained bond between the witches and hinting at a romantic subplot between Elphaba and Prince Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey).

Why the Film Was Split into Two Parts

Chu described that the decision to separate the story was required to preserve its richness. In a social media post, he cited:

"As we prepared the production over the last year, it became impossible to wrestle the story of 'Wicked' into a single film without doing some real damage to it. As we tried to cut songs or trim characters, those decisions began to feel like fatal compromises to the source material that has entertained us all for so many years. We decided to give ourselves a bigger canvas and make not just one 'Wicked' movie but two! With more space, we can tell the story of Wicked as it was meant to be told while bringing even more depth and surprise to the journeys for these beloved characters."

What Fans Can Expect

“Wicked: For Good” promises a deeper exploration into the magical world of Oz, the evolving uniqueness between Elphaba and Glinda, and the drama and spectacle of the original Broadway score. Viewers can anticipate an emotionally charged, visually striking continuation of the story audiences fell in love with in the first movie.
