Chiles claimed that this was a very unjust decision on the Olympic officials' part as it is heartbreaking for an athlete to experience such an incident, where she was already seen celebrating with her nation's flag, when the standings suddenly changed. This stripping off of her bronze medal is now being linked to the CAS panel that had approached FIG for awarding bronze medals to Romanian athletes, including Jordan Chiles.

Court panel claims it would have awarded bronze medals

The International Gymnastics Federation has been ordered by the Court of Arbitration for Sport's ad-hoc panel to formulate rules and laws so that such an instance is not repeated in the future. Moreover, the panel also mentioned that if it were up to them, they would have awarded bronze medals to the Romanian athletes, and not have pondered for a moment over it.
