Many news outlets have drawn a parallel between the founder and CEO of the cryptocurrency exchange FTX, Sam Bankman-Fried, and the Ponzi scheme fraudster Bernie Madoff called a 'financial serial killer' in the Netflix docuseries named 'Madoff: The Monster of Wall Street'.

Fried has been accused of 'misleading investors' by running a 'wide-ranging scheme' whereas, Madoff has been accused of running a Ponzi scheme, considered the biggest such fraud in the history of Wall Street.

Joe Berlinger, the director of the Netflix documentary 'Madoff: The Monster of Wall Street', says this documentary is a 'perfect analogy' to show that lessons from the Madoff incident have not been learned, which is why we saw a similar episode of incidents in the FTX crash. He says, 'Little did I know that this FTX thing would happen.'

According to Berlinger, a 'financial serial killer' like Madoff shares a characteristic with serial killers.
