Why is Michelle Obama not contesting US Presidential Election which she is expected to win?

Democrats are in a state of panic and there are multiple reasons for it. Biden’s approval ratings are on the decline and several of the potential replacements are trailing behind Republican candidate Donald Trump who is also a former president. There is only person who is capable of defeating Trump. She is former First Lady Michelle Obama. Various national surveys have given her a double-digit lead over Trump. This should have been some sort of relief for the Democrats. However, the former First Lady has said that she is not interested in a political career. The never-ending woes for the Democrats continue.

Support for Michelle Obama:

A Reuters/Ipsos poll asked respondents a hypothetical question. If Michelle Obama were to contest the upcoming election by replacing Biden, what would be the level of support she would enjoy. The survey noted that 50% of the respondents supported her presidential bid in comparison to Donald Trump who found the support of only 39% of the respondents.

Is Michelle Obama willing to contest the upcoming election?

In 2016, she had reportedly said that she is not interested in participating in any electoral politics. She has said that she is service oriented but has had enough of politics. In recent times, she has extended her support to President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris.

She has not actively campaigned for the Bidens. A news report indicated that she is disappointed with the way the Bidens treated Hunter Biden’s ex-wife Kathleen Buhle. The two are friends and are reported to be sharing a good relationship.

Recently, many in the political circles were surprised when Michelle Obama expressed her concerns about a possible Trump victory and its impact on the US. They construed this statement as her willingness to contest the upcoming election.
