The fact that the founder of Amazon Jeff Bezos travelled to London's Leicester Square for the world premiere of the most expensive TV series ever along with Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios, and the majority of the cast and crew, showed how important "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" is to the company as a whole.

The audience was up for a surprise, and so were the showrunners. Jeff Bezos, the Amazon boss, thanked them (the showrunners) for skipping his notes. The incident happened on Tuesday, August 30, at the UK premiere of the forthcoming "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power".

What was unique about the showrunners?

Most showrunners prefer notes and snippets on the script from the chief or the founder (of the organisation), which creates the show's background and helps connect better with the audience, Bezos said. So he introduced the new series to the audience at the Odeon cinema in Leicester Square. But Patrick and John (showrunners on the day) followed Bezos whenever it helped and ignored his points at other times. So Bezos thanked them for doing the right thing.

Big Tolkien fan
Bezos also shared some personal titbits by disclosing that his grandfather first introduced him to Tolkien's world when he was probably 13 or 14. The adventures, the sense of hope and optimism struck him, and he became an instant fan. He was happy that his son, too, was continuing with the obsession with Tolkien.

Brilliant team
Bezos added that many people hesitated in selecting the unknown duo, Mckay and Payne. Putting them at the helm of the extravagant project was challenging, with very few previous credits between them. However, Bezos re-affirmed that he felt that it was one of the finest decisions of the management. He reminded the audience to be prepared to witness something extraordinary and unique.

Cast members like Sir Lenny Henry, who plays Sadoc Burrows, Morfydd Clark in the role of Galadriel; and Markella Kavenagh, who plays the intrepid "Nori" Brandyfoot, all walked the red carpet at the London premiere of the forthcoming Amazon blockbuster.
