The rivalry between Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has come to the fore once again. Warning the billionaire entrepreneur known for launching the Windows software, the SpaceX CEO said that he must not trifle with him again. Taking to social media platform X, Musk said that Bill Gates may be annihilated if he makes any further attempt to bet against Tesla, reports 'Fortune.' He wrote on his X account, "Once Tesla fully solves autonomy and has [its droid] Optimus in volume production, anyone still holding a short position will be obliterated,” he posted to social media on Tuesday. “Even Gates.”

Musk refuses to support Gates' philanthropy

The rivalry between the two billionaire businessmen goes back to 2022 when Elon Musk refused to support Bill Gates' charitable work after he came to know that the latter still had a half billion dollars riding on a wager the Tesla stock price would fall. Musk wrote in a message that he cannot take his philanthropy on climate change seriously when he has a massive short position against Tesla, the company doing the most to solve climate change.

Will Musk be able to annihilate Gates?

It is not clear whether Gates still has a position in the stock. On the other hand, Musk's claim to annihilate Bill Gates appears to be far-fetched because Tesla has not been performing well financially.
