Whopping lead! Harris leads Trump by 5 points.
Donald Trump may be aggressive in his election campaign and target rival Kamala Harris for personal attacks, but he is losing ground slowly and gradually. In yet another opinion poll, he has been found trailing his Democrat rival. According to an Ipsos poll published on Thursday, Kamala Harris leads the Republican candidate 42% to 37% in the race for the US Presidential Election 2024. Not only that, her lead has widened since a July 22-23 Reuters/Ipsos survey. She was found leading 37% to 34% in that survey.

Reuters/Ipsos survey

Reuters has reported that 2,045 U.S. voters were contacted and asked many questions during August 2-7. It was found that 4% of the respondents supported independent candidate Robert Kennedy Jr., down from 10% in July. Ipsos conducted the August poll separately.

Ipsos Poll: Harris leads in seven states

In a separate poll conducted by Ipsos, Kamala Harris was found leading Donald Trump 42% to 40% in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. These are the states where the presidential election 2020 was closest.

In the poll held when President Joe Biden was still in the frey, Reuters/Ipsos found Biden tied with the Republican contender, though he was performing worse than he had at the same point in the 2020 election, in which he defeated Trump.

The Economist/YouGov Poll

In a separate poll conducted by The Economist/YouGov between August 4 and 6, 40% of the US voters said they believed Kamala Harris would win the November 5 election. On the other hand, 38% of the 1,618 respondents believe the Republican candidate would be the winner.

'Newsweek' has reported that it is for the first time since October 2023 that a majority of US voters have said that Donald Trump would lose to either presumptive Democrat candidate Kamala Harris or Joe Biden, who has pulled out of the race and endorsed vice president instead. Only one week earlier, Donald Trump had a 42% to 35% lead. Harris's chances of winning the November 5 election went up after the enthusiasm among Democrat voters increased. A total of 60% of Democrat voters said that they would vote on November 5, while 58% of Republican voters have demonstrated such enthusiasm.
