Various Jewish activists and community members are demanding Whoopi Goldberg’s termination from ‘The-View’ after she doubled down on her past holocaust remarks, resulting in a fierce outcry on social media.
Ten months post suspension from ABC network’s daytime talk show, Whoopi Goldberg is in the news again. After insisting that Holocaust was “not about race, Goldberg in her latest interview U.K. paper The Sunday Times, showed little remorse for her past rhetoric, arguing again that the estimated 6 million Jews systematically killed in the holocaust were not targeted based on their race.
“The View’ co-host claimed that in addition to Jews, Nazis targeted people of African Descent because they were physically different and went on to suggest that Jews had an easier time hiding from the Nazis than black people by blending in with white people during the Holocaust.
She said that it does not change the fact that one could not tell a Jew on the street but could find her.
Reacting to Goldberg’s comments in an article, The Times of Israel marked her comments as “incendiary by pointing out that even though she has adopted a “Jewish sounding” stage name, her real name Caryn Elaine Johnson, has no Jewish ancestry.
