The Voice crowned its season 28 champion on Tuesday, Dec. 16. Aiden Ross, a 20-year-old college student from College Station, Texas, representing Team Niall, secured the victory during the live finale.

"I’m at a loss for words," Ross later mentioned on Instagram. "I’ve grown so much as an individual and an artist, met some of my best friends, and learned from the very best in the industry," the Texas A&M student stated.

Ross initially impressed during the blind auditions with Adele’s “Love in the Dark”, achieving the first four-chair turn of the season. Horan praised his performance:

"It was literally like you had written the thing. When you hit some of those bigger notes, you hit them with ease and that makes me excited now that you're 155% on the show and you're going to be on Team Niall obviously," Horan stated.
