FOX Sports has named Brady Quinn as the replacement for former Jets quarterback and analyst Mark Sanchez for Sunday’s(October 5) Week 5 NFL game between the Indianapolis Colts and Las Vegas Raiders, following Sanchez’s stabbing and subsequent arrest in Indianapolis.

Quinn, 40, a former NFL quarterback who played four seasons in the league, joined broadcasting in 2019. He primarily serves as a college football analyst on FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff but also occasionally works as a color commentator for NFL games and co-hosts Blitz on Sirius XM Radio.

The decision came hours after Sanchez, 38, was involved in a violent altercation outside Loughmiller’s Pub & Eatery in downtown Indianapolis. According to police and reports from FOX59/CBS4, the fight began when Sanchez confronted a 69-year-old food delivery driver over parking. The driver claimed Sanchez became aggressive and used pepper spray, prompting him to stab Sanchez in self-defense.

Sanchez was hospitalized for surgery after sustaining stab wounds to the chest. He has since been charged with misdemeanor counts of battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle, and public intoxication. Officials noted that the delivery driver also suffered “significant injuries” in the confrontation. Sources indicated that Sanchez was reportedly uncooperative with responding officers.

Fox Sports issued a statement saying, “We are deeply grateful to the medical team for their exceptional care and support. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mark, and we ask that everyone please respect his and his family’s privacy during this time.”
