While having a pretty recent interview with Jake Tapper from CNN, the former Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney eventually expressed his belief that US Vice President- elect JD Vance is actually poised to lead the GOP in the US Presidential Elections 2028, reported Daily Beast.

According to Daily Beast, Mitt Romney gradually described JD Vance as someone ‘smart’ and ‘well-spoken’ while highlighting his connection to the MAGA movement. This recent statement actually marks a huge shift from Mitt Romney's earlier criticisms of Vance which he chose not to revisit during the interview while acknowledging their collaborative work in the Senate.

Mitt Romney also made a discussion regarding the evolution of the Republican Party while largely crediting US President- elect Donald Trump for attracting working-class voters who previously supported the Democrats, asserted Daily Beast. He also noted that the party must realign its policies to better reflect voter interests, as current Republican policies do not fully address the concerns of constituents.

Adding onto that, he also criticized the Democratic Party for failing to connect with its base specifically on issues like inflation, noted Daily Beast. Mitt Romney also pointed out that many traditional Democratic voters have shifted to the Republican side while suggesting a significant misreading of public sentiment by Democrats.
