Veteran Hollywood actress Diane Ladd, best known for her roles in “Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore” and “Chinatown,” has died at the age of 89 multiple news outlets confirmed on November 3. “My amazing hero and my profound gift of a mother, Diane Ladd, passed with me beside her this morning, at her home in Ojai, Ca,” ABC quoted her daughter, actress Laura Dern.

“She was the greatest daughter, mother, grandmother, actress, artist and empathetic spirit that only dreams could have seemingly created.” “She is flying with her angels now,” Dern continued.

Who Was Diane Ladd?

Born Rose Diane Lanier in Meridian, Mississippi, Diane Ladd was an accomplished actress, director, and writer whose career spanned more than six decades. She began her journey in theater before making her mark in film and television, appearing in acclaimed projects such as Chinatown, Something Wicked This Way Comes, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, and the Hallmark series Chesapeake Shores.
