Tekashi 6ix9ine, an American rapper whose real name is Daniel Hernandez and who testified against his own gang to help convict two high-ranking members, was physically attacked by multiple individuals while in a sauna at a gym in Florida. The assault resulted in his hospitalization, with Hernandez suffering facial injuries and bruises, according to his attorney, Lance Lazzaro.

Local authorities in South Florida were informed of the incident and transported Hernandez to a nearby hospital in an ambulance. While his injuries were serious, they were not life-threatening, officials said. Lazzaro added that 6ix9ine attempted to fight off his attackers but was overpowered by three or four men inside and outside the LA Fitness gym sauna. The assailants fled the scene when gym employees intervened after hearing the commotion.

The rapper was granted early release due to COVID-19 related concerns, and the presiding judge commended him as a "model prisoner."

On Friday, Hernandez was reportedly expelled from a Miami baseball stadium for causing a disturbance while intoxicated, as per multiple media outlets.
