Former first lady Melania Trump has not been seen that much in the political campaigns this year which is pretty unlikely compared to the other years. But, a much more unlikely and unusual move is that, being the better half of a US Presidential candidate Donald Trump, she has received pay check of hefty amounts to appear in those selective political campaigns as well.

According to CNN Politics, Donald Trump’s latest financial disclosure says that Melania Trump received around $237,500 while she spoke at the fundraiser event for the Log Cabin Republicans this April. The huge amount of money received by Melania Trump is raising certain questions as the payment was enlisted as ‘speaking engagement’.

CNN reported that, Charles Moran, President of Log Cabin Republicans have clarified that the group did not spend that much amount for Melania Trump to speak whereas the disclosure form also did not give much information regarding the source of payment. According to government ethics experts, payment done by any entity to a Presidential Candidate’s spouse for appearing at any political fundraisers is pretty unusual and obviously ethically questionable.

Ric Grenell, former ambassador to Germany and who is also a friend of Donald Trump had also requested for such a hefty payment on behalf of Melania Trump in another political fundraiser back in July, though the financial disclosure during that period of time is not available yet, noted CNN Politics.
