TMZ reported that DiDonato’s mother, Denise Fuoco, had spoken with her just a week prior. During the FaceTime call, Fuoco mentioned that Natalie appeared visibly distressed, nervous, and abruptly ended the conversation without offering much information about her whereabouts.

Fuoco also described her daughter’s behaviour in the weeks leading up to her disappearance as distant. A WhatsApp message to a friend revealed that Natalie had asked for money for a plane ticket, though she never boarded the flight. Before her disappearance, DiDonato had been active on social media, particularly Instagram. Her last post was on December 12, 2024, when she celebrated her 44th birthday, sharing a photo of herself.
