Mohamed Sabry Soliman identified in Boulder molotov attack
The FBI has identified 45-year-old Mohamed Sabry Soliman as the suspect in a targeted attack on a pro-Israel demonstration in Boulder, Colorado, on Sunday, June 1. Soliman is accused of throwing Molotov cocktails at a crowd gathered on Pearl Street, injuring multiple people.According to Mark Michalek, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Denver field office, Soliman also used a makeshift flamethrower and shouted "Free Palestinians!" during the incident. The attack occurred shortly before 1:30 p.m. local time near the intersection of 13th and Pearl streets.

Responding officers found several individuals with burn injuries and transported them to local hospitals. Boulder Police Chief Steve Redfearn reported that the victims' injuries ranged from minor to very serious. The suspect was taken into custody at the scene. No formal charges have been announced yet, but officials stated Soliman will be held “fully accountable.”
Boulder Police and FBI continue terror investigation
Authorities are continuing to investigate whether the demonstration was directly targeted by the suspect. FBI Director Kash Patel referred to the incident as a “targeted terror attack” and confirmed that federal and local law enforcement are jointly handling the case.“We are aware of and fully investigating a targeted terror attack in Boulder, Colorado. Our agents and local law enforcement are on the scene already,” Patel stated on X (formerly Twitter).

Colorado Governor Jared Polis released a statement following the incident. “I am closely monitoring the situation in Boulder, and my thoughts go out to the people who have been injured and impacted by this heinous act of terror,” Polis said. He added that state authorities are coordinating with local and federal agencies as the investigation progresses.
The peaceful pro-Israel demonstration was ongoing at the time of the attack. Boulder police are now working to determine whether the act was premeditated and politically motivated.
