How did the confrontation with LAPD unfold?

The LAPD department said in a statement Wednesday afternoon that the hit-and-run incident happened on the 134 freeway close to the Figueroa exit.

The department reports that three suspects got out of their car and fled on foot into Eagle Rock, a neighbourhood in northeast Los Angeles, where they seem to have divided.

Police claim that while looking for the suspects in a home's backyard, they discovered a nearby woman, later identified as Shriner, holding a handgun in a neighbour's yard.

According to the LAPD, Jillian Shriner pointed the gun at them despite "numerous" orders to drop it.

After officers started shooting and Jillian Shriner was hit in one shoulder, she fled back inside her home. She has never been accused of firing on LAPD officers.
