After the hate over a photoshoot featuring children, The creative director of Balenciaga, Demna Gvasalia, took to social media last week to defend the luxury fashion label.

Balenciaga has recently been chastised for photographs on its website showing kids cradling the company's teddy bear purses. Bondage wear, like the fishnet blouses, the studded leather harnesses, and collars, looked worn by the stuffed animals.

Following days of criticism, Balenciaga brand ambassador Kim Kardashian stated on Sunday on Twitter that the controversial photographs offended and upset her. Other significant people have spoken out against the pictures.

Days earlier, Gvasalia, frequently referred to by his first name, took to Instagram to release a statement from Balenciaga in which they truly apologised for any hurt caused by the Christmas campaign.


In this ad, their plush bear backpacks should have been seen with someone other than youngsters. The campaign was promptly withdrawn from all sites.

Balenciaga was also chastised for a shoot for its new joint campaign with Adidas, which Chris Maggio shot. Users on social media noticed a stack of documents that contained a page from the 2008 Supreme Court decision United States v. Williams.
