Los Angeles Police Department Sergeant Rudy Perez, announced the death of a whistleblower Valentin Broeksmit in LA on Tuesday. His body was found in Woodrow Wilson High School’s compound, after being declared missing for more than a year by the LAPD.

Valentin was connected to the investigation of Donald Trump and his links with Deutsche Bank in 2019. The incumbent met with FBI at that time and provided sensitive company information that raised many eyebrows about Deutsche Bank having deep roots in Russia which in turn raised questions on Trump’s role. The young man was a known drug addict, who sold plenty of information to Fusion GPS, the company famous for the "Steele Dossier" revelations as informed by NYT. He also informed many a journalist about this issue, namely Investigative Reporter Scott Stedman and New York Times Journalist David Enrich known for his book “Dark Towers”. It is important to mention that the House Intelligence Committee had subpoenaed Broeksmit about the documents for its investigation into the relationship between Trump and Deutsche Bank.

Background to the involvement of Valentin in this case of Trump came about with the suicide of his father William Broeksmit in 2014. The father was a senior employee of Deutsche bank at the time of his untimely death. It had been established that the senior Broeksmit was guilty of having given a clean chit to many a tainted trader associated with Deutsche Bank. During that crucial period Valentin got access to many secret files that only his late father along with an “inner circle of Deutsche” had access to.

The death of Valentin surely raises a few questions and maybe more information would spill out in the days to come. What is mysterious is that LAPD claims no foul play in the death of Valentin and cites that the coroner has mentioned "deferred pending additional investigation" in his case file.

The FBI and Fusion GPS did not respond to calls from the newspaper regarding this case, whereas Deutsche refused to say anything. The journalists who worked closely with Valentin during the investigation however were quite forthcoming. Scott Stedman called him a friend who supplied him information and at the same time warned people not to develop conspiracy theories regarding his death. Enrich missed him deeply as he was the main character of his book and a close friend and his death was “just devastating to hear”.
