The controversial puzzle of renowned and quite famous ‘Wheel of Fortune’ recently went quite viral due to its toss up puzzle but there are far more interesting things.

According to USA Today, contestant Arzice Salonga pronounced ‘safari’ as ‘Sa-FAIR-ee’ while leading Ryan Seacrest to consult with the judges who deemed the pronunciation eventually incorrect. At the same time, fellow contestant Brian Nelson then provided the correct pronunciation and thus won the prize.
The ruling reportedly and actually sparked outrage among the ‘Wheel of Fortune’ fans with numerous fans taking to social media to express their disagreement. Adding o to that some viewers even felt the mispronunciation was minor and that contestant Arzice Salonga should not have been penalized while some also attributed it to a regional dialect or accent, asserted USA Today.
During such times, one Reddit user even wrote that ‘That was cheap. I didn’t think they were so fussy on pronunciation’ while at the same time, another added that ‘She was robbed IMO’.
It should be also noted that others defended the decision of the show while placing an argument that ‘Wheel of Fortune’ is a game about words and that correct pronunciation is extremely essential, noted USA Today. In spite of having the major setback, contestant Arzice Salonga later won a trip to Scotland.
