According to Hindustan Times, at 10:55 AM EDT, DownDetector received nearly 10,000 complaints of issues, with most of the users having difficulty connecting.

While the cause of the outage is still unclear, it appears to be affecting a large number of users, but the company has not issued any formal statement yet, reported The Sun.

Frustration grows as users find difficulty

People on DownDector have written the problems they faced while opening the app. As one user lamented, "When I open WhatsApp it keep loading forever," as quoted in the report. Another chimed in said, "I keep failing to register device connections with my iPhone on the WhatsApp webpage and the desktop app for Mac."

One user shared, "Whatsapp web is working, phone app is not.” Another frustrated user added, "It was back for a few seconds and now it is back on that loading forever again!! Dang Meta."

Some users have also turned to X (formerly Twitter) to share their frustrations with the outage. One person posted, "Stop toggling your Airplane mode on/off. Stop refreshing your WhatsApp. It’s not your network, WhatsApp is down"
